Nothing says “welcome home” like one’s own front door

Perhaps the most transformative enhancement for memory care communities.

Some of the features and benefits:

  • Our front doors are deliberately traditional and retro with the odd smattering of classic and contemporary. Choose from our selections of rich and vibrant colours, pastels, wood grain or mix and match for a community that says “neighbourhood”. Besides bringing joyful colour to long term care, benefits can include:

  • help with way-finding (locating one’s own room or that of a friend or family member).

  • a sense of “pride and ownership” in having one’s own space.

  • a more pleasant environment for residents, staff and visitors alike.

  • contributing to the “look and feel of home”, rather than institution.

FAQs

Our safety team was asking if the door wraps meet fire safety guidelines. Would you be able to let me know what product it is that you will be using?

Our wraps are created using a top quality 3M self adhesive vinyl, with the addition of a special no-glare laminate for extra protection and easy cleaning.  We have included a link below to the flammability test report for the material we use.  The flame spread rating is Class 1A  0-25, which is extremely low.

How strong is the wrap material? Will it last?

The wrap material is very strong (the kind that withstands all weather on the sides of trucks and we give it an additional no-glare laminate for more protection and easy cleaning. However, that doesn't mean a hefty whack from a walker or something similar won't damage them and that's why we strongly recommend adding a polycarbonate “kick-plate” to the base of the doors (as we do when installing). This may be obtained (and cut to size) from your local hardware store. Well worth the effort!

Could the edges of the wrap peel, tear or rip?

Installed correctly, there shouldn't be any edges to lift.  The video shows you how to trim them at an angle down the edge and bottom of the door and once smoothed over, there won't be any edge you can feel at all.  All the touching your residents can manage will have no effect, they are far more durable than that.

Are the door wraps easily removed and will they cause damage to the door?

Yes, they only need a gentle warming with a hairdryer or heat gun and can be slowly peeled off, without causing any damage, or leaving any residue.

Is the door wrap reusable if we had to switch them to a different door?

No, once the wrap is removed, it's not reusable.

Why don’t I see prices?

Pricing is dependent on several aspects. The amount of design time required, quantities and the overall size of the project all have an influence. Also your location in relation to ours here in Southern Ontario and whether we install, or we ship to you for local installation.

Can we return some wraps if we change our minds and want different ones?

Due to the customized nature of these items - they are made to fit your Care Home’s doors exactly and are printed to order. They are therefore not returnable or refundable.

If however, your order is damaged on arrival from the courier (unlikely, as we pride ourselves on our careful packing!) we will take the necessary steps to replace damaged items. For this we will require photographs of the damaged boxes and products when they are received, in order that we may ourselves seek compensation from the carrier.

How soon would we be getting our wraps after we order?

As they are made to fit an order according to the size of the client’s doors (not stock items), it takes from one to two weeks for production and up to a week to reach a destination in North America - so expect a minimum of two weeks.
