First Impressions - Entrances to Memory Care

Setting the mood for a positive experience

We can’t help it! We humans are sensitive to first impressions and visual input. Sometimes “setting the scene” for an experience is the best way to ensure that it is in fact, a good experience. Imagine approaching your own front door. You want that “ahhhh….I am home” good feeling and this should be true even if you share your home with others as in a Memory Care Community.

Other venues require the same positive cueing - entering the dining room, or the tub/shower room. The outside should communicate to a person with memory challenges the activity that is about to take place within. Scroll down for some of the solutions we have come up with.
